Dangar City Mall, Johor Bahru Malaysia

Went to Dangar City Mall with my mother & sister in October 2009 to have a look since it is said to be  a new shopping complex. Taxi should cost not more than RM5. If you are coming from Sultan Iskandar Immigration Centre, never take the taxis from there. You will be charged at RM12 ~ RM15 ! Instead walk over to City Square and take a taxi from there.

Dangar City Mall has several food outlets at the basement. But many of them opens in the evening. Saw only a Penang Fast Food Restaurant (noodles, rice, drinks), Hokka Hokka Japanese Restaurant, a Muslim food cafe opened. The rest are all closed. The only attractive places are the supermarket & Metrojaya.  Very quiet so we could try the clothes at Metrojaya and spent several hours there. In the end, we bought quite a number of clothes since Metrojaya was having sales (33rd anniversary). Many small shops are closed and vacant shops can still be seen.

Transportation from Dangar City Mall was not easy since we had to walk right to the end of Dangar City Mall to catch a taxi. If you wait at the taxi stand, there won’t be any taxis at all since they will turn into the express lane and won’t turn into the Dangar City Mall taxi lane.

Upon returning to City Square, the place was crowded as usual. I will only return to Dangar City Mall to shop at Metrojaya.

There is a direct KTM train service to Singapore Tanjung Pagar train station.
