Yes, this is the well known Little Thailand in Singapore and on weekends, the place is packed with Thais. The place is filled with pungent Thai food aroma as soon as you walked into Golden Mile Complex. There are many restaurants / food stalls selling all authentic Thai food cooked by the Thais. The biggest Thai restaurant is Diandin Leluk which can accommodate 10 persons to a table. However, the service & staff in Nongkhai is the best although the tables are smaller. Prices are almost the same in all the restaurants.
In Golden Mile Complex, the popular “yum yum” (spicy Thai salad) is commonly available and even Chiang Mai Isan cuisine can be found here. Again, you have to ask for little or NO chilli if you are do not take spiciness. There is a huge Thai cum Vietnamese supermarket on the 2nd floor. Thai newspapers & magazines are also available.
Golden Mile Complex is also the coach center for Malaysia and Thailand. You can buy outbound tickets to many destinations in Malaysia & Thailand if you plan to travel by coach. All the travel agencies are located on the first floor and are clearing visible as you approach Golden Mile Complex.
Take subway to Nicoll Highway MRT station. Get out at Exit A. Walk along the overhead bridge. When you arrive next to "The Concourse" building, you will see an escalator on your right. Go down the steps & cross over "Java Road". Pass by St John's headquarters, Golden Mile Tower, Incity Lofts and you arrive at Golden Mile complex. There will be coach/coaches parking around Golden Mile Complex.
Buses 100, 961, 980 (alight directly opposite Golden Mile Complex) and cross over by the overhead bridge.
