This hotel has the best location of the city right on the pedestrian Nanjing road along which you have all the shops and malls you could dream of. It is also just a 10 minutes walk away from the Bund. The hotel, although old, has been renovated. The lobby is cosy and ‘’small” in a good way except if you like the usual Chinese gigantic unfriendly lobby. The bar, located on the same floor is very intimate. The coffee shop, also on the same floor is offering a very nice interactive buffet which gives a great freedom of choice. The night time gives all these locations a totally different ambiance thanks to the lighting. The executive lounge on the last floor shows a great view of the city. The service is caring, the breakfast tasty and diverse with both buffet and a la carte and the evening cocktail time friendly and warm.
The rooms are nice and not shabby. The bed is in particular very comfortable. The bathroom may be a bit small but still has separate bathtub and shower.

Zhuhai: Gongbei Coach Station

To go to other provinces / cities outside Zhuhai is very convenient. There are many coach stations around Zhuhai. If you are staying in Gongbei, go to the nearest one located opposite the Gongbei port plaza (standing in front of Gongbei immigration square facing the road, cross the road, turn right and walk straight for about 5 minutes). Be careful when crossing the road.

You can travel to Guangzhou by taking a coach from this coach station. Travel duration is about 2.5 hours and there is a bottle of mineral water for each passenger on board (included in the coach fare). Coach fare is about RMB80 per person each way. Luggage is kept in the luggage compartment before boarding the coach.

ZHUHAI: Little Macau in Wanchai seafood street

A “Little Macau” is located next to the Wanchai seafood street. Many shops sell Macau local produce such as the famous almond cookies.

This wishing tree is available at little Macau in Zhuhai. Buy a set of material from the kiosk & make a wish, throw it high up & if the items hang over the tree branch, then your wish is said to come true.

Zhuhai, Gongbei: Taxi & Public buses

Many of the taxis in Gongbei has no grilles dividing the driver & the back seat (only some that are being used – just like many big cities in China). In China, the front passenger’s seat is only for children & female (males have to take the back seats). The metal grilles protect the driver from robberies.

Public transport especially the buses are very cheap. In the big cities like Guangzhou, the metro subway is also very cheap & convenient. In Zhuhai, there is no subway. Public buses are plentiful & convenient but you must know which bus to take as the bus guides are all in Chinese language at the bus stops.

Located near Yingbin Plaza & walking straight down the road for about 20 minutes will lead you to the Gongbei port plaza and also the Zhuhai-Macau immigration. There is another international hotel cum service apartment in progress of completion.
